Green Chickpea Barfi

Delicious green chickpea Barfi is prepared from the coarsely ground whole green chickpeas and Mawa (condensed milk) sautéed in pure Desi Ghee (clarified butter). This mixture is added with ground sugar, set in the plate, garnished with sliced cashew, almonds and ground green cardamom delights which make it a heavenly sweet dish to be tried after having a lavish dinner.

 

Green Chickpeas Pakaudi

The crisp, spicy and delectable green chickpeas fritters (Pakaudis) are made from the coarsely ground Hare Chhole added to the batter of gram flour (Besan) seasoned with spices like salt, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin seeds, asafetida (Heeng), sliced ginger, Garam Masala (assortment of several spices) etc. and deep-fried. Green Chickpea Curry (Hare Chane ki Sabzee /Leelve Ki Sabzee)

Rich in spicy gravy and phenomenal in taste, the curry is prepared by frying the fresh green chickpeas (Leelve), potato, tomatoes turmeric etc. in oil by sautéing finely cut onions, garlic, ginger, asafoetida, cumin seeds added with spices and Gaaram Masala etc. The prepared curry is not only irresistible but healthy too.

 

Green Chickpea Paneer Sabzee

Green chickpeas combined with Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) render a uniquely delicious gravy rich curry. This spicy curry is prepared by frying fresh tender chickpeas with tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, onions, garlic, and cooked in authentic Indian spices. The rich and flavoursome gravy is garnished with green coriander leaves and it goes well with all types of Indian bread, rice etc.

 

Green chickpeas Saag

The chickpea leaves having significantly higher mineral contents than spinach is the main ingredient in preparing a delicious Saag out of it. Fresh finely cut chickpea leaves along with sliced potatoes are stir-fried in oil along with finely cut onions, garlic, ginger, green chilies, Heeng, cumin seeds etc. and seasoned with salt, red chili powder, turmeric etc. The delicacy goes well with Rotis and rice. Green Chickpea (Leelve) Khichdi

Highly delicious green chickpea (Leelve/Hare Chane) Khichdi is a unique and a savoury delicacy. Cumin seeds, asafetida (Heeng), bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, black pepper, cloves etc. are fried in pure Desi Ghee (clarified butter)/oil, seasoned with salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, a pinch of sugar etc. This fried mixture is then added with freshly washed rice, green chickpeas and cooked in the pressure cooker. This lip smacking Khichdi is served hot by garnishing with green coriander leaves and is relished independently or with Papad, pickles, salad and plain spicy and tangy Kadi.

 

Roasted Green Chickpea

Called as Ora in certain parts of Rajasthan and Hudra in Marathi, the whole bush of green chickpeas along with pods are roasted on the fire. These roasted seeds of chickpeas are highly delicious and make an ideal snack to savour independently or with tea.
